Every Sunday morning millions of singers, with little or no voice training, step up to a mic to lead their congregations in worship and are often required to minister under increasingly higher vocal expectations, as the musical style of contemporary christian music continues to learn further towards a more pop/RnB vocal style. These modern vocal styles take more of a toll on the voice than traditional hymns, which is why more and more worship leaders are seeking out professional voice training.
The Worship Leaders Vocal Classes is a 12 week vocal course designed to help worship leaders and worshippers develop and strengthen their singing. If you're experiencing sore, tired or strained vocals during and after singing, these are all signs that you need to work on your vocal technique.
Vocal Technique is what you use to strengthen and open your voice, build and embedded muscle memory through practice and improve and develop your vocal skills overall.

Estill Voice is the foremost leader of vocal training pedagogy and is highly respected within the vocal coaching community. Complete Vocal Technique builds upon Estill to focus on vocal ornamentations such as runs, growls, vibrato, harmonics, etc. As members of the Natural Voice Network, classes encourage participants to find their voice and embrace their own vocal style
Classes will take place at Leagrave Methodist Church, Luton and are limited to only 10 students allowing participants to benefit from personal interaction with the tutor. Once the workshop has started students would be expected to complete the course to get the full benefits of the training.
You will meet like minded people and learn techniques that will help you grow in your vocal skills.

Of all the musical instruments mentioned, the voice is the no1 instrument and the primary form of musical communication with God!
Chronicles 1 and II reveals the training and mentoring that the singers (Levites) went through so they could serve, and were assigned leadership roles when they demonstrated skill and aptitude(1 Chron 15v22).

Taking the classes will be professional vocal coach and Worship Leader, Dionne Shand. She has been teaching voice for over 10 years and is also a voice tutor for Luton and Hertfordshire Councils' Music Services.
She has worked with 100's of singers through her workshops, local praise teams, choirs, including children and soloists, Her mission is to provide tools to help worship leaders minimise vocal wear and tear on the voice so they can sing stronger and for longer without damaging their voice. How Long is each Class?
Each session last for 90 mins. £10 per session. Start time: 19.30 - 21.00
When does the class' take place?
Every Friday at 19.30 GMT. The first class is Friday 20 March
Do i have to be a good singer?
No. Start from where you are at. The sessions are suitable for all abilities.
how much are the sessions?
Each session is normally £10 per hour. However, a 10% discount is added at checkout.
What if i don't like the sessions?
We want every student to feel they are learning and succeed, so please speak to Dionne, in the first instant, if you are having difficulty with the sessions. Refunds cannot be given once the course has started.
If i LEAVE will i get a refund?
It is asked that once you start the course you complete it. There are no refunds once the course is started.
I'm not sure the course is suitable for me. Is there a Trial Period?
Technically, there is no trial period as it is a short course. However, you are welcome to book a FREE 15 min assessment with Dionne prior to starting the course. You can use this time to discuss the classes and any any questions. (An assessment is normally £16.50)
Can i start midway a course?
No. This is because each course is tightly structured. Fill in the form below to be alerted for the next set of sessions.
What happens after i pay?
You will be sent a confirmation email. And a reminder will be sent out at least 2 days before the first session.
